Okay, so I saw this outfit in the July 2009 issue of Bazaar, and I said to myself, okay, tapered leg, saggy crotch, spikey hair, gloves. hmmmmm. Its like a twist between McHammer, Annie Lenox and (the late) Michael Jackson. I absolutely despise this style, and I am dreading the fact that this style base is coming back into play! The only body shape that can reasonable pull off this baggy style are those women who are long and thin, any of us who are average sized, or have curves, would look huge in this. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be out of style as quickly as it came back in!

my secrete shame
Okay, so I am not proud of the information I am about to divulge in this posting, but I have developed a ridiculous habit at the office. I am obsessed with looking at womens shoes under the bathroom stall walls and trying to identify who they are by their footwear. For those of you who don't know, which none of you would, I work in a large office environment, which is kind of perfect for this sort of shoe stalking. But aside from this habit, I have become slightly disgusted with peoples perception of "office appropriate" footwear. For instance, a few days ago, I noticed a woman wearing addidas soccer sandals with thick white athletic ankle socks. My immediate reaction was to throw up, and thankfully, I was in the perfect location to do so. This offender happened to exit the stall just after I did, and let me tell you, it was not a pretty sight! Paired with the sandals and socks was a black wrinkled chiffon skirt, a purple and white foral blouse (untucked, obviously) , and a ponytail HELD UP WITH A SCRUNCHIE. WTF! So now my disdain has grown into a more general category, "office appropriate" attire. I am not sure if its because I have traveled and lived outside this slightly hick-ish area or what, but people here honestly think its okay to dress like the woman I mentioned above. I have seen oversized sportcoats with shoulder pads, one piece boxy plaid jumper dresses, pegged pants, black socks with sandals! I tried desperately to find a photo on the internet that would adequately depict the horrific outfits I see on a daily basis, but was not successful. I did, however, find numerous articles on what is and is not acceptable to wear in an office environment. Perhaps I should send out an anonymous email at work reminding people that, as Vivienne Westwood once said, "you have a better life if you wear impressive clothes."
